With this regional perspective below, you can see the two access bridges that lead to Blind Creek Beach. To the north a bridge and causeway connect downtown Fort Pierce with Fort Pierce Beach, or "South Beach" as the locals call it. This is the northern extreme of Hutchinson Island. Some new-timers call the island "South Hutchinson Island" to distinguish it from North Hutchinson Island, which is located immediately north of the Fort Pierce inlet and Fort Pierce Beach. Understanding the difference between the two will endear you to your local hosts.

To the south another automobile access exists via the Jensen Beach bridge and causeway. It terminates at a round-about where you must drive north on South Ocean Drive (or A1A) to reach Blind Creek Beach. If you are heading north, once you pass the St. Lucie Nuclear Power Plant you have approximately one mile before reaching the entrance to the Blind Creek Beach Parking Area. Look for the "Blind Creek" sign. (Click here to go to "Parking" for a photograph of this sign.) The sign is located on the right (east side of South Ocean Drive) just south of the turn off into the parking lot.
